Design and development of new Clinical Outcome Assessments

We design and develop exceptional Clinical Outcome Assessments which are robustly tested to exacting standards recognised by regulators and professional societies.

With a particular focus Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PRO measures or PROMs), each COA is tested with appropriate patient populations to demonstrate measurement properties, including via face validity, content validity, test and retest reliability and sensitivity to change.

This ensures the developed COA:

has high performing characteristics
is meaningful to the patient
measures the correct domains, relevant to the condition and aims of the proposed study
asks questions about what is important to the patient.

Our work includes helping develop a PROM for the APPRAISE study- led by Leeds Becket University, this £1.6m study measures the impact of surgical treatment on women with pelvic floor disorders. We are also involved in a new PRO applied to knee orthopaedics.

Alongside our expertise in developing patient-led Clinical Outcome Assessments- we support the development and ongoing management of clinician-reported, observer-reported and performance-reported COAs.

The team here at InSpired Health Outcomes are responsible for developing COAs which are internationally recognised, including by regulatory bodies, such as the FDA or EMA.
